Wheel Throwing One-Day Course

Slow down, get your hands in the clay, and learn to throw your own pots. Small classes, relaxed pace, everything provided. just bring curiosity and clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

You’ll learn the full process of making on the wheel: from preparing and centring clay, to pulling and shaping your own forms. With plenty of one-to-one guidance, you’ll have time to experiment and refine as you go, building confidence with each throw.

By the end of the session, you’ll have made several pieces and can choose your favourite 2–3 for Laurence to glaze and fire for you. Once they’re finished, your pots will be ready to collect or can be carefully posted to you.

All materials, tools, clay, and firings are included. Just bring clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy and an open mind, everything else is provided.

Session length: around 4-5 hours
Group size: up to 3 people (each with their own wheel)
Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate
