Wheel Throwing Two-Day Course

(3 students max - all materials, firings and tools included)

A deeper dive into the wheel for those who want to spend more time learning, refining and creating.

Over two days at Laurence Makes Pots, you’ll be guided through the full process of making on the wheel - from preparing clay and throwing a variety of forms, to trimming, finishing and adding handles or decoration.

Day one focuses on throwing - exploring bowls, mugs and cylinders with plenty of time for practice and individual guidance. Day two is all about refining and finishing: trimming, turning down your pieces, adding handles or details, and learning how to prepare work for firing.

You’ll select your favourite 3–4 pieces for Laurence to glaze and fire for you. Once complete, they’ll be ready for collection or can be safely posted to you.

All clay, tools, glazes and firings are included. Just bring clothes you don’t mind getting messy and a packed lunch - tea and coffee are always on.

Session length: Two days of around 5–6 hours each day (Day One - Throwing/ Day Two - Turning down, handles and finishing touches)
Group size: up to 3 people (each with their own wheel)
Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate
